Nha Trang for Golfers
Nha Trang is a long beach city on the south-central coast, with Cam Ranh's airport and coastline just to the south. It has a small cluster of golf courses and plenty to fill the non-golf hours.
The golf
The courses sit around the bay and down towards Cam Ranh. KN Golf Links near Cam Ranh is a 27-hole Greg Norman design; our KN Golf Links guide covers it in detail. Vinpearl Golf Nha Trang is on Hon Tre island across the bay (see our Vinpearl Nha Trang guide). Diamond Bay Golf sits on the coastal road between the airport and the city.
The city and beyond
Nha Trang's main beach runs along the city centre, backed by hotels and restaurants. A few kilometres north are the Hon Chong rocks with views over the bay, and the Po Nagar Cham towers, built between roughly the 8th and 13th centuries. The mud baths and hot springs outside the city are a popular recovery afternoon, and Hon Mun is the best-known snorkelling spot in the bay's marine protected area.
Getting there
Cam Ranh International Airport is about 35 kilometres from Nha Trang city centre, roughly a 45–60 minute drive depending on traffic. Domestic flights connect from Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Da Nang.
How it compares with Da Nang
- Da Nang has more championship courses within a short drive, and Hoi An next door.
- Nha Trang is a busier beach city, with a different feel from central Vietnam.
- Cam Ranh's resorts are quiet and spread out; you will need transfers to everything.
- For most golf groups, Da Nang is the base and Nha Trang is a possible add-on.
Common questions
Can we combine Nha Trang and Da Nang?
Yes, with a short domestic flight. Ask us and we will look at whether the extra travel day is worth it for your group.
