PGA-Hosted Golf Trips in Vietnam: What to Expect
Most golf holidays hand you the tee times and leave you to it. A PGA-hosted trip adds a professional to the group: someone who knows the courses, helps you play them better and keeps the week running smoothly. Here is what that looks like.
What a host adds
The difference is having a PGA Professional who knows the courses as part of the trip. That means course strategy before each round, tips on the paspalum greens and coastal winds, help with the group format, and someone to sort out the small problems that come up on any golf week. ASEAN LINKS is run by Jerram Chudleigh, an Australian PGA Professional based in Vietnam since 2017.
Playing with a pro
On a hosted trip, the host can join groups on the course, offer on-course tips and help each player work out how to score on unfamiliar layouts. It is not a golf school: the focus is on playing and enjoying the courses, with as much or as little coaching as each player wants. Hosted versus self-guided
- Self-guided: tee times, transfers and hotels booked for you; you play at your own pace. Best for groups who know what they want.
- Hosted: the same arrangements, plus a PGA Professional with the group for course knowledge, tips and on-the-ground support.
- Events: a hosted trip built around a competition, such as the 2027 Vietnam Series.
Who it suits
Hosted trips suit golf club groups and societies who want a competition and a bit of structure, first-time visitors to Vietnam, and anyone who wants to play better on courses they have not seen before. Experienced travellers who just want tee times often prefer self-guided.

Do I need a handicap?
Not for a social trip. Competition formats may use handicaps, and we will tell you what is needed when you book.
Is hosting included in every package?
No. Our standard holidays are self-guided with full support from our team. Ask us if you would like a hosted trip for your group.
