Non-Golfing Partners in Da Nang and Hoi An
A golf day in central Vietnam usually runs from early morning to early afternoon. That leaves the non-golfers half a day to themselves, and Da Nang and Hoi An have more than enough to fill it. Then everyone meets for a late lunch or sunset drinks.
Basket boats and cooking classes
The water coconut forest at Cam Thanh, a few kilometres from Hoi An Ancient Town, is the home of the round basket boat. A ride through the palm-lined canals takes about an hour, and the boatmen like to show off their spinning. Many half-day tours combine it with a market visit and a cooking class, finishing with lunch you have cooked yourself.

Beaches and spas
My Khe in Da Nang and An Bang near Hoi An are the two best beaches for a lazy morning; go early or late in the day. Spa treatments in Da Nang range from simple local shops to full resort spas, so a long massage while the golfers play is easy to arrange.
Bigger outings
- Ba Na Hills and the Golden Bridge: a cable car up the mountain to the famous hands. Go early to beat the queues.
- Marble Mountains: cave temples and the stone-carving village, best before 9am.

Common questions
Can partners ride along on the course?
Many courses allow non-playing guests to ride in a buggy for a fee, depending on the course. Ask us when booking.
Is it safe for partners to explore on their own?
Da Nang and Hoi An are relaxed, easy places to get around. Grab cars are cheap and reliable for short trips.
