Booking & Payments

How do I book a tour?

The simplest way is to use the booking form on the relevant tour page, or to contact us directly by email or phone. We'll confirm availability, answer any questions and send you a booking form with payment details.

Your place is held once we receive your completed booking form and the AUD $500 per person deposit. We'll issue a written confirmation within 24 hours.

How much is the deposit and when is the balance due?

A deposit of AUD $500 per person is required to secure your place. The deposit is non-refundable.

The balance is due 90 days before departure. If you book within 90 days of departure, the full amount is payable at the time of booking.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept bank transfer (EFT) and credit card. Bank details are provided on your booking confirmation. Credit card payments may incur a small processing surcharge of up to 1.5%.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation charges are based on how far in advance you cancel:

  • More than 90 days before departure: Loss of deposit only
  • 60–90 days: 25% of total tour price
  • 30–59 days: 50% of total tour price
  • 15–29 days: 75% of total tour price
  • Less than 15 days: No refund

This is why we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance with cancellation cover at the time of booking. See the full details in our Booking Terms.

Can I transfer my booking to someone else?

Yes. If you can't travel, you can transfer your place to another person with our approval, subject to a transfer administration fee of AUD $150 per person. Transfer requests must be made at least 30 days before departure. Contact us as early as possible if you need to make this arrangement.

Will ASEAN Links ever cancel a tour?

We may cancel a tour if minimum booking numbers are not reached - you'll be notified no later than 60 days before departure and will receive a full refund of all monies paid.

In the event of force majeure (natural disaster, pandemic, government travel advisory, etc.), we will offer a full credit note valid for 24 months or a refund of recoverable costs. See Booking Terms for full details.

The Tours

What's included in the tour price?

All guided tour packages include:

  • All golf rounds listed, with English-speaking caddie and shared motorised cart
  • 5-star accommodation for the full tour duration (twin share)
  • Daily buffet breakfast
  • Welcome dinner on arrival night
  • Post-round lunch after every round
  • Farewell dinner at Montgomerie Links (Da Nang tour) or BRG Norman Course (Hoi An tour)
  • All in-destination transfers (airport, hotel to course, cultural activities)
  • Dedicated tour host throughout
  • Guided cultural activities as listed in the itinerary
  • ASEAN Links tour polo shirt

International flights, travel insurance, visas and personal expenses are not included. See the specific tour page for the complete inclusions list.

Can I do both the Hoi An and Da Nang tours back-to-back?

Yes - and it's a popular choice. The Hoi An: Links & Lanterns tour runs August 9-15 and the Da Nang: Dragon & Dunes tour runs August 16-22, making a seamless 14-day, 8-course itinerary through central Vietnam.

If you do both, your transfer on Day 7 of the Hoi An tour takes you directly to your Da Nang hotel rather than to the airport. You fly home from Da Nang on August 22. Let us know at the time of booking and we'll coordinate the back-to-back arrangement.

What is the group size?

We deliberately keep group sizes small so that everyone gets proper attention. The maximum number for a guided tour departure is typically 20 guests. This ensures tee times work efficiently, transfers aren't chaotic, and dinner tables feel like a group rather than a conference.

If you're travelling with a larger group (club trip, corporate event, etc.), we can arrange a dedicated private departure. Contact us to discuss.

What hotels do you use?

All tours use 5-star hotels and resorts selected for their location, quality and proximity to the golf courses and cultural sites in the itinerary. Specific hotels are confirmed in your booking documentation. If you have a strong preference for a particular property, contact us and we will do our best to accommodate.

Are there any hidden costs I should know about?

There are no surprise fees at the golf course - green fees, caddies and carts are all included. The main items to budget for in addition to the tour price are:

  • International flights to and from the destination (not included)
  • Travel insurance (compulsory - budget AUD $200–$400 for a 7-day Vietnam tour)
  • Visa fees (Vietnam e-visa approx. AUD $30, Cambodia e-visa approx. AUD $40)
  • Drinks at dinners (soft drinks and water are provided; alcoholic drinks are at your own cost)
  • Caddie tips - the going rate is approximately USD $10–$20 per round per caddie
  • Shopping, personal purchases and optional extras

Golf

Do I need a handicap certificate?

Some courses require a current handicap certificate for insurance purposes. A Golf Australia or equivalent national handicap is recommended. If you play regularly as a social golfer without a formal handicap, contact us before booking and we can advise based on the specific courses in your chosen tour.

What standard of golfer is the tour designed for?

Our tours suit golfers of all playing levels. The courses on the itinerary offer multiple tee options from beginner-friendly to championship, so whether you're a single-figure handicapper or a social golfer who plays a dozen times a year, you'll have a great time.

What matters more than handicap is enjoying the experience - the camaraderie, the destinations, the food. The golf is the anchor, not a competition.

Can I hire golf clubs at the courses?

Yes. All courses on our tours offer club hire at additional cost (not included in the tour price). Quality varies by course but is generally good. If you're considering hiring rather than travelling with clubs, contact us and we can advise on specific availability for your chosen courses.

If you bring your own clubs, ASEAN Links handles club storage and bag transfers between courses throughout the tour.

What is the best time of year to play golf in Vietnam?

Central Vietnam (Hoi An, Da Nang) is best from February to August. The 2026 tours are scheduled in August, which sits at the end of the dry season - warm, mostly clear skies, with low humidity compared to mid-summer months. It is the optimal window before the October–January rainy season.

Mornings typically offer the best playing conditions. All tee times are arranged to take advantage of the best part of the day.

Travel Practicalities

Do Australian passport holders need a visa for Vietnam?

Yes. Australian passport holders require a Vietnam e-visa, which is obtained online before travel. The process takes approximately 15 minutes and approval is typically granted within 3 business days. Cost is approximately AUD $30.

We provide full visa guidance - including the application link and exactly what details to enter - to all confirmed guests well in advance of departure. It is straightforward and we walk you through it.

Which airport do I fly into?

Both the Hoi An and Da Nang tours fly into Da Nang International Airport (DAD). It is approximately 30 minutes to most Hoi An hotels and 15 minutes to Da Nang hotels. Your ASEAN Links transfer meets you at arrivals on Day 1.

Direct flights from Sydney and Melbourne to Da Nang are available with Vietnam Airlines and Bamboo Airways, typically via Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City. Flight booking guidance is provided to all confirmed guests.

Is travel insurance compulsory?

Yes, comprehensive travel insurance is compulsory for all ASEAN Links guests. Your policy must cover emergency medical treatment, medical evacuation, trip cancellation and personal liability at a minimum. We recommend a policy with at least AUD $5,000,000 medical cover.

We strongly recommend purchasing insurance at the time of booking so that cancellation cover applies from day one. Budget approximately AUD $200–$400 for a comprehensive single-trip policy covering a 7–14 day Vietnam trip.

What currency should I bring?

Vietnamese Dong (VND) is the local currency. USD is widely accepted at golf courses, hotels and restaurants. We recommend bringing a mix of USD cash (useful for caddie tips, smaller restaurants and markets) and using ATMs in Da Nang or Hoi An for VND.

Most 5-star hotels and golf courses accept Visa and Mastercard. Inform your bank before travelling to avoid card blocks.

What vaccinations are recommended?

We recommend consulting your GP or a travel health clinic at least 6–8 weeks before departure. Commonly recommended vaccinations for Vietnam include Hepatitis A and B, Typhoid and Tetanus. Malaria prophylaxis is not generally required for coastal areas of central Vietnam (Da Nang, Hoi An) but should be discussed with your doctor.

Check the Smartraveller website for current health and safety advisories.

Non-Golfers & Groups

Can I bring a non-golfer?

Absolutely. Non-golfers are genuinely welcome and we make sure they have a full programme. On golf days, we organise local tours, cooking classes, spa days, market visits, cycling through the ancient town and other activities so they're never stuck waiting at a hotel.

Non-golfers join all dinners, cultural day trips, transfers and group activities. Non-golfer pricing is available on request - contact us for the current rate.

What is the single supplement?

An additional AUD $500 per person applies if you want your own room throughout the tour. If you're travelling solo and happy to share with another solo traveller, let us know and we'll try to match you at no extra cost. Contact us for current single supplement pricing for specific tours.

Can our golf club book the whole tour?

Yes - and we actively encourage it. Golf clubs, social clubs and corporate groups work extremely well on this format. We can arrange a private group departure, customised itinerary, group pricing, club-branded polo shirts and other tailored elements.

Groups of 12 or more qualify for group pricing. Contact us with your group size and preferred dates and we'll put together a detailed proposal.

Do you offer custom corporate golf trips?

Yes. We arrange corporate incentive trips, client entertainment golf tours and company group travel throughout Southeast Asia. These can be fully bespoke - custom destinations, exclusive resort buyouts, branded merchandise, private dining and team competition formats.

Contact us to discuss your requirements and we'll design an itinerary around your objectives and budget.

Still have a question?

We're happy to talk through any part of the booking process, itinerary or logistics. Most questions are easier answered in a short conversation than by email.
